HILLSIDE DECK

We replaced a dilapidated deck on the rear of a house perched on a steep hill. A dramatic new stairway gave access to spaces below that was previously lacking. Space on the deck was defined with a cedar trellis and new space on the hillside was created by installing stone retaining walls, stairs and patio. A second stair allowed access to the back yard from the driveway at the garage. The project was largely about creating new space on the dramatic hillside, getting to that space and making the trip and the spaces along the way as enjoyable as possible.
