Originally a 1950s brick and stone one story house, the home had undergone several eras of additions including an awkward second story with aluminum siding. Anticipating the needs of a growing family, but wishing to make a cohesive home, we worked closely with the client to reflect a more transitional style. Relocating the dining room to a one story addition served to open up the kitchen and adding a master suite atop a garage provided another bedroom and storage space. The detailing of the home took on a more craftsman look as a way to work with the palette of several exterior materials (brick, stone, wood, and cement board siding). A front porch and front dormer made the entry sequence more apparent and added to the curb appeal.
